Moss - Welcome to Distrohopper’s Digest, Episode 028, recorded on December 8, 2021. This episode, we are going to do something a little different.  With us this month is Joshua Hawk, and we are looking at our favourite distros we reviewed or looked at this year. We are happy to receive suggestions of distros you’d like us to try.

MONTHLY FOIBLES

...wherein we discuss what we did this month…  Josh, would you like to start us off?

Josh - First off I want to thank you guys for having me on your podcast! Considering I am new I will start a little farther back than a month. I got a new laptop in October, it is an Acer Predator Helios 300 - 15.6" 144 Hz IPS - Intel Core i7 11th Gen 11800H (2.30GHz) - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU - 16 GB DDR4 - 1 TB HDD 512 GB PCIe SSD - Windows 10 Home 64-bit - Gaming Laptop (PH315-54-731M). I know it's a mouthful but trust me it's a great laptop and linux works great on it. I have tried a few distros on it including Ubuntu Gnome, Fedora Gnome, Linux Mint, Manjaro Cinnamon, and Pop!_OS.  MORE

...wherein we discuss what we did this month…

Moss - I have had a rough month with distros. I’ll let Dale talk about his vacation, but it was great having him around for a few days and we got a lot done. All my computers are working, and all have fresh heat paste. More.....

Moss' Sponsus Closed ... or is it?

I have told all my sponsors that I am closing my Sponsus. Only one of them has ended his giving. I am very humbled by that. So I contacted the guy who wrote and runs Sponsus. He said he would shut off the connection to Stripe, which should end it. Well, three months later, I'm still getting payments from Stripe.

Really, guys, I don't need the money now. There are a couple guys on mintCast who have an open Patreon, pick one of them.

As always, I am extremely grateful for all gifts. I'm just not sure what to do with them now.

MONTHLY FOIBLES

...wherein we discuss what we did this month…

Moss - I received a used Lenovo T540p from Owen Peery (mintCast audio editor). It arrived with a broken case bottom. I got a replacement Back, and installing it (done by Dale) required removing the keyboard, which refused to cooperate and proceeded to decompose, throwing keycaps around the room. None of this was anything Owen could have known about or Dale could have prevented. [Dale interjects re: his skill level] We have another keyboard ordered, it should get here later today or tomorrow.
